I got off work an hour ago, just as the rain was starting. Drove two miles out of the way to grab cheap-ass sushi from Reasor's. Yeah, I know it's not 1337 sushi...but when a girl is craving sushi at one am on a Thursday, she'll take what she can get.
So I'm sitting here browsing my messages and forums with the patio door wide open so the lovely fresh rain smell can come in. There's enough water coming down to keep the cats from straying out, and I can see a corner of sky occasionally laced with electric flickers. I'm blissfully full on sushi, and drifting into somnolence.
I have a job that I love, a great life, an adoring and thoughtful boyfriend, and all of my beloved pets are in good health.
Life is really, really good right now.
blissfully content

If you're wanting to start off easy, try it made with cooked ingredients first. The first time I tried it was when a Japanese guy in my physics class took me out, and out of politeness I tried everything and thought it was pretty wierd. I still don't care for mackarel...too fishy. A few years later though, I started craving it and now it's borderline addiction, LOL.

Wishing I was there
Man sounds like a page out of my life. I love the rain like no one else. While on the clock, I ran outside and just sat in the middle of the road and let in rain on me. I could have cared less that people, employees, and my bosses thought I was just crazy. I love to listen to the rain. To watch it and the lighting and thunder that come with it. The smell it creates as it cleans the air and atmosphere of impurities.Would have been nice to share the moment with ya, but I guess I will settle with scaring the wits outta everyone at work ^_^

As far as places in town that serve "real" sushi, my seester and I are both devotees of Asahi. I've also tried Fuji and Tsunami, and they were pretty good too. Anwhere else I ought to check out?

The only other place I can recommend is Memories of Japan, which is located near the Wal-Mart on 71st & 145th. Granted, it's a fair distance away from your house, but they have high-quality food and a wide variety of lunch specials.

My impression was at times it was really good, other times it wasn't as good. Over all I like it but not something I want all the time.
P.S. Glad to hear things are working out for you irl. ;)
